Why Adventure Coast is great for School Trips

When you’re planning a school trip, finding the right balance between entertainment, education, and safety can be tricky.

That’s where Adventure Coast Southport comes in. We offer a combination of fun attractions, easy-to-manage facilities, and opportunities to create educational moments, making our park the perfect setting for a memorable school outing.

Whether you’re travelling from Liverpool or beyond, here’s why Adventure Coast Southport should be your first choice for school trips.

Safety First: Downloadable Risk Assessment

We know that health and safety is a top concern for every school trip organiser. To make things as easy as possible, we provide a downloadable risk assessment to ensure you can feel confident about every aspect of your visit. Our risk assessment covers everything from ride safety to general park facilities, helping you plan ahead without the usual stress.

With this tool in hand, you can focus on what matters most – creating a fun and engaging experience for your pupils.

A Variety of Safe, Engaging Rides for Every Age Group

At Adventure Coast Southport, we’ve got something for everyone. From younger children who love gentle rides to older students looking for a bit of adventure, there’s plenty to keep all ages entertained. Safety is our priority, and every ride is regularly maintained to the highest industry standards, giving you peace of mind while your students enjoy their day.

While you’re here, make sure to check out the stunning views from the Big Wheel, which gives students a unique way to see the Southport coastline from above. It’s a great opportunity to discuss geography and landforms in a fun, accessible way.

Whilst in the park you have the unique opportunity to meet members of our team, gaining behind the scenes insights into the inner workings of the park and what makes it thrive.

If you’re looking to extend your day beyond the park, Viking Adventure Golf is right next door and offers a fantastic additional activity. This immersive, Norse-themed mini-golf course takes students on a journey through Viking mythology, complete with dragons and longships. It’s a great way to keep the fun going, while perhaps sneaking in a little historical learning too!

At times, we invite a Viking historian to captivate the children with fascinating stories from the Viking age which is a great opportunity to learn about this historical era.

Fun Fact: The Vikings, famous for their longships and exploratory voyages, reached as far as North America nearly 500 years before Columbus. A trip to Viking Adventure Golf could be the perfect chance to start a conversation about history and navigation techniques!

A trip to Adventure Coast Southport is about more than just a fun day out—it’s about creating lasting memories for your students. From the excitement of our rides to nearby attractions like Viking Adventure Golf, we offer an all-encompassing experience. With safety, enjoyment, and learning all in one place, we’re confident that both teachers and pupils will leave with smiles on their faces.

Educational Opportunities and Interactive Experiences

While our park is all about fun, we also recognise that every school trip is a chance for learning. We’ve created some lesson plan ideas and educational resources for teachers to use, helping you link the day’s excitement with curriculum topics. Whether it’s the physics behind how our rides work, or the geography of our coastal location, there are plenty of opportunities to tie the trip to what students are learning in class.

Did you know the pirate ship ride works on the principle of pendulum motion? Just like a giant swinging clock, the pirate ship moves back and forth, converting potential energy (as it climbs) into kinetic energy (as it swings down), creating that stomach-flipping sensation as it reaches its peak height! It’s the same basic physics that’s been used in clocks and even playground swings.

If you’d like a quieter space during the day to talk with your students and reflect on these experiences, we’re happy to provide that too. It’s an opportunity to reinforce the learning and encourage students to think more deeply about what they’ve seen and done.
